Finding reliable mental health information can be difficult. The internet is a useful tool if you know where to search for accurate information. There are many sites that may try to sell mental health products or push a specific agenda such as unsubstantiated alternative treatments or untested herbal products. There are some organizations that are opposed to mainstream mental health care that try to steer those people suffering from psychiatric illness away from treatment. Other sites have forums where individuals relate their experiences with treatment or medications that may not be accurate or consistent with the majority of those getting help.
